Days out and activities in Hebden Bridge and the Calder Valley
Come to Hebden Bridge
With ragged rocks, hilltop reservoirs and vast moorlands that stretch away to the horizon, the scenery here is truly epic.
Hebden Bridge is a vibrant little town, renowned for its creativity and independent spirit. Its heritage as a former milltown is present in both its architecture and landscape, which is scattered with the chimneys that are a relic of earlier times.
The town offers a busy calendar of events and exhibitions, as well as a nationally-renowned music venue, a theatre and a thriving community-owned cinema. There is a wealth of restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars, including Yorkshire’s best curry house, the Pink Pepper (recently awarded!)
Hebden Bridge is also on the Pennine Way and is ideally located for walking, fell-running, cycling and horse riding.
Just a few miles away, the town of Halifax is home to The Piece Hall, a multiple-award winning architectural gem that now houses independent shops, exhibitions and events. Next door, The Square Chapel Arts Centre hosts arthouse cinema, as well as live theatre performances.
